Arusha was our main destination. Set in the shadows of Mount Meru, it is the hub for many safari operations for the parks and conservation areas that surround the city. It is also the home of the School of St Jude, where we are doing some volunteer work.
Following our time at St Jude’s we went on Safari with Safaris R Us. It was a personalised tour with Walter, our magnificent guide, who took us to Taringiri, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti.
Zanzibar is a small and beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania- close to Dar es Salaam. It has remnants of a colonial past of spice trade and slave trade (Stonetown) but the Eastern side of the island, washed by the clear waters of the Indian Ocean is paradise where you can escape the troubles of life and the world.
